is rendered "to try" in the Av in  1 Corinthians 3:13;  1 Thessalonians 2:4;  1 Peter 1:7;  1 John 4:1 : see Prove , No. 1.

2: πειράζω (Strong'S #3985 — Verb — peirazo — pi-rad'-zo )

is rendered "to try" in  Hebrews 11:17;  Revelation 2:2,10;  3:10 . In  Acts 16:7 it is rendered "assayed;" in   Acts 24:6 , Rv, "assayed" (Av, "hath gone about"): see Go , Note (2) (b).
