fō´ros ( Φορός , Phorós  ; Codex Vaticanus (Swete) Φαρές , Pharés (1 Esdras 8:30, where the King James Version Pharez )): Name of one of the families, part of whom went up from the exile with Zerubbabel (1 Esdras 5:9) and part with Ezra (  Ezra 8:30 the Revised Version (British and American)) = "Parosh" of   Ezra 2:3;  Ezra 8:3 , and some members of which had taken "strange wives" (1 Esdras 9:26).
