Ladan . 1. A name occurring in the genealogy of Joshua ( 1 Chronicles 7:26 ). 2 . A Gershonite family name ( 1 Chronicles 23:7-9; 1 Chronicles 26:21 ter . In 1 Chronicles 6:17 it appears as Libni (wh. see).

lā´dan ( לעדּן , la‛dān , the King James Version, Laadan ):
(1) A descendant of Ephraim, and an ancestor of Joshua ( 1 Chronicles 7:26 ).
(2) A L evite of the family of Gershon ( 1 Chronicles 23:7 , 1 Chronicles 23:8 , 1 Chronicles 23:9; 1 Chronicles 26:21 ), also called Libni (which see).

( Γαδάν v. r. Λαλάν , and even Ἀσάν , Vulg. Dalarus), one of the Temple servants whose descendants had lost their pedigree after the exile ( 1 Esdras 5:37); evidently the DELAIAH (See Delaiah) (q.v.) of the Hebrew text ( Ezra 2:60).
