Capharetaea [1]

Capharetaea,

a village of Samaria, the native place of the heretic Menander, according to Justin Martyr ( Καππαρεταϊ v Α , Apol. 2), but Eusebius (Ecct. Hist. 3:26) cites the name somewhat differently ( Καπαρατταία ), and Theodoret (Compend. Haeret. Fab. 2) has Chabrae ( Χαβρα῏῏῏Ϊ v ); so that the place is altogether doubtful.
