(Heb. id. עַיר . a city; Sept. ῎Ωρ v.r. ᾿Ωρά, Vulg. Hir), the father of Shuppim (Shupham) and Huppim (Hupham), of the tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 7:12); probably identical with one of the sons of Benjamin (Genesis 46:21), and therefore not (as often supposed) the same with Iri (1 Chronicles 7:7).
