William Knowler

William Knowler [1]

an English divine, was born in May, 1699, and was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge. He was first chaplain to the first marquis of Rockingham, and was by him presented with the rectory of Irthlingborrow, and afterwards with Boddington, both in Northamptonshire. He died, in all probability, in 1773. Dr. Knowler published an English translation of Chrysostom's Commentary on St. Paule's Epistle to the Galatians, with an account both of Chrysostom and of Jerome.-New Genesis /ioyr.
