1: Ἀτιμία (Strong'S #819 — Noun Feminine — atimia — at-ee-mee'-ah )

"dishonor," is translated "vile" in  Romans 1:26 , RV, marg., "(passions) of dishonor." See Dishonor.

2: Ῥυπαρός (Strong'S #4508 — Adjective — rhuparos — rhoo-par-os' )

"filthy, dirty," is used (a) literally, of old shabby clothing,  James 2:2 , "vile;" (b) metaphorically, of moral defilement,  Revelation 22:11 (in the best texts). In the Sept.,   Zechariah 3:3,4 .

1. Base mean worthless despicable.

The inhabitants account gold a vile thing.

A man in vile raiment.  James 2 .

Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed as vile in your sight?  Job 18 .

2. Morally base or impure sinful depraved by sin wicked hateful in the sight of God and of good men. The sons of Eli made themselves vile.  1 Samuel 3 .

Behold I am vile what shall I answer?  Job 40 .
