(Heb. Tikvah', תַּקְוָה , A Cord [as in Joshua 2:18; Joshua 2:21], or Hope [as often]), the name of two Israelites.
1. (Sept. Θεκκουέ v.r. Θεκουάν ; Vulg. Thecua. ) The son of Harhas and father of Shallum, which last was the husband of the prophetess Huldah ( 2 Kings 22:14). B.C. ante 632. He is elsewhere ( 2 Chronicles 34:22) called TIKVATH (See Tikvath) (q.v.).
2. (Sept. Θεκουέ v.r. Θέκωέ ; Vulg. Thecue. ) The father of Jahaziah, which latter was one of the "rulers" appointed to carry out the divorce of the Gentile wives after the Captivity ( Ezra 10:15). B.C. 458.
