Thomas Crowther [1]
a Presbyterian minister, was born at Bridlington Quay, England, July 7, 1840. He graduated from Columbia College, N.Y. in 1858; spent about four years in teaching; one in Princeton Seminary (1863); and graduated from Union Seminary, N.Y., in 1865. He was licensed by the Presbytery of New York, April 18, 1866, and ordained an evangelist in 1867; went to Southfield Congregational Church, New Marlborough, Massachusetts, as a supply, and was installed January 23, 1868; next at Pittsfield, in 1872; and in 1875 was called to Brooklyn, N.Y., first as pastor of the Memorial Presbyterian Church, and then as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, where he died, October 10, 1877.
