(Heb. Tach'an, תִּחִן , Camp [Gesenius], or Graciousness [Furst]), the name of two descendants of Ephraim.
1. (Sept. Τανάχ v.r. Ταναϊ v; Vulg. Thehen.) The head of one of the families of the Ephraimites at the end of the Exode ( Numbers 26:35). B.C. ante 1618. (See Tahanite).
2. (Sept. Θαέν v.r. Θαάν ; Vulg. Thaan.) Son of Telah and father of Laadan in the Palestinian lineage of Ephraim ( 1 Chronicles 7:25). B.C. post 1618.
