The name [[Mahath]] holds a similar place in the list that follows ( <span> 1 Chronicles 6:35 </span> ). </p>

<p> (Hebrew Achimoth', <span> אֲחַימוֹת </span> <span> , brother of death, </span> i e. perh. <span> destructive; </span> Sept. <span> Ἀχιμώθ </span> ), a person named with [[Amasai]] as sons of Elkanah, a [[Levite]] ( <span> 1 [[Chronicles]] 6:25 </span> ). From <span> 1 Chronicles 6:35 </span> , however, it would appear that he was rather the grandson of this [[Elkanah]] (through Amasai), and the father of the other Elkanah of <span> 1 Chronicles 6:26 </span> . [[He]] is there called MAHATH (See <a> MAHATH </a> ) (q.v.). </p>
