(Heb. Shammoth', שִׁמּוֹת , Desolation ; Sept. Σαμαώθ , v.r. Σαμώθ , Σαμμαώθ ) , the name of a person entitled "the Harorite," one of David's guard ( 1 Chronicles 11:27); apparently the same with "Shammah the Harodite" ( 2 Samuel 23:25), and with "Shamhuth" ( 1 Chronicles 27:8).
