Samuel Friedrich Unselt [1]

a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born in 1742 at Dantzic. He studied theology at Leipsic, where his acquaintance with Gellert had the greatest influence upon him. From Leipsic he returned to his native city, where he was appointed rector of St. Mary's. For twelve years he labored as a teacher, when he was called as pastor to Praust, not far from Dantzic. A few years later he was called to Gittland, where he died, May 1, 1790. He wrote, Dissertatio de Natura Conversionis (Gedani, 1763): Dissert. de Locorum Veteris Testamenti in Nova Accormmodatione Orthodoxal (Lips. 1766). See D Ö ring, Deutsche Kanzelredner, p. 552 sq.
