Saint Wigbert
Saint Wigbert [1]
the first abbot of Fritzlar, was a native of England. In 734, when Boniface had become bishop of Mayence, he invited Wigbert to come to Germany, and take charge of the Fritzlar abbey. Under the new abbot the school soon became famous. Wigbert died in 747. See Servatus Lupus, Vita S.
