rā´math - ı̄t ( הרמתי , hā - rāmāthı̄ ; Codex Vaticanus ὁ ἐκ Ῥαήλ , ho ek Rhaḗl ; Codex Alexandrinus ὁ Ῥαμαθῖος , ho Rhamathaı́os ): So Shimei is called who was set by David over the vineyards ( 1 Chronicles 27:27 ). There is nothing to show to which Ramah he belonged.

(Heb. Ramathi', רָמָתַי , Al Inhubit ( Nt Of Ramab; Sept. Ὁ Ραμαθαῖος ), all epithet of the Shimei (q.v.) who was over the vineyards of king David ( 1 Chronicles 27:27). The name implies that he was native of a place called Ramah, but of the vaniouts Ramahs mentioned none is said to have been remarkable for vines; nor is there any tradition or other clue by which the particular Ramahi to which this worthy belonged call be identified. (See Ramah).
