Son of Issachar and ancestor of the Punites  Genesis 46:13 . He is called PUA in the A.V. of  Numbers 26:23 ., though the Hebrew is the same, and is apparently identical with PUAH in  1 Chronicles 7:1 .

(Ieb. Puvvah', צפֻּוָּה , Mouth; Sept. Φουά ), the second named of four sons of Issachar ( Genesis 46:13). B.C. 1900. This name is also written "Pua" in the A.V. ( Numbers 26:23), and "Puah," margin "Phuyalh" ( 1 Chronicles 7:1). His descendants are called "Punites" ( Numbers 26:23).
