Or Dridoens Driedo Jan [1]

a Roman Catholic divine, was born at Turnhout, in Brabant. He studied at the University of Louvain, where he was a pupil of Adrian Florent, afterwards Adrian VI, and became professor of theology there. In the controversy between the Lutherans and Roman Catholics he took an active part; and, according to the testimony of Erasmus, in one of his letters, disputed both coolly and learnedly. He died at Louvain in 1535. He wrote Lib. IV de Scripturis et Dogmatibus Ecclesiasticis: Lib. II de Gratia et Libero Arbitrio: De Concordia Liberi Arbitrii et Praedestinationis: De Captivitate et Redemptione Generis Humani; and De Libertate Christiana. Moreri, cited by Hook, Eccl.
