Me'ah. (A Hundred). The Tower Of Me'ah . One of the towers of the wall of Jerusalem when rebuilt by Nehemiah, Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39, appears to have been situated somewhere at the northeast part of the city, outside of the walls of Zion.

A tower in the walls of Jerusalem when rebuilt by Nehemiah. The word signifies 'a hundred;' but what this refers to, or where the tower was situated, is not known. Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39 . R.V. reads Hammeah.

(Hebrews Meah מֵאָה , A Hundred , as often; Sept. Ἑκατόν , Μεά ; Vulg. Cenztum, Emnath ), a tower in Jerusalem, situated on the eastern wall ( Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39), probably at the north-eastern angle of the Temple enclosure (Strong's Harmony And Expos. Of The Gospels , Append. ii, p. 19; but it is not likely that the outer wall was different from that of the Temple, as supposed by Dr. Barclay, City Of The Great King , p. 152). (See Jerusalem).
