Martin Plantsch [1]

a German theologian, was born in 1460 at Dornstetten, in W rtemberg. He studied at the newly founded university at T bingen, where in 1483 he was made magister, in 1484 professor of philosophy, and in 1494 doctor and professor of theology, at the same time preaching in the church of St. George. In 1523 he was present at the Zurich colloquium, and died July 18, 1533. In connection with Dr. Hartsesser, he founded the famous scholarship of St. George and St. Martin at T bingen. He was also the author of Tractatus defitgis maleficis, which he wrote in 1506, on the occasion of the burning of a certain witch at T bingen. See Jocher, Gelehrten-Lex. s.v. (B. P.)
