Lewis Bagot [1]

a bishop of the Church of England, Was born in 1740. He was a son of Lord Bagot. After studying at the University of Oxford, he became a canon, and later, successively bishop of Bristol, Norwich, and St. Asaph. He died in 1802. He is the author of numerous theological works, the most important of which is Twelve Discourses on the Prophecies concerning the First Establishment and subsequent History of Christianity, preached at the Warburtonian Lecture, in Lincoln's Inn Chapel, 1780.
