Kola'iah. (Voice Of Jehovah).

1. A Benjamite whose descendants settled in Jerusalem after the return from the captivity.  Nehemiah 11:7. (B.C. before 536).

2. The father of Ahab, the false prophet, who was burnt by the king of Babylon.  Jeremiah 29:21. (B.C. before 594).

(Heb. Kolayah', קֹלָיָה , Voice Of Jehovah), the name of two men.

1. (Sept. Κωλέας v. r. Κωλίας or Κωλιᾶς ; Vulg. Colias.) The father of Ahab, which latter was one of the false and immoral prophets severely denounced by Jeremiah ( Jeremiah 29:21). B.C. ante 594.

2. (Sept. Κωλεϊ v Α ,Vulg. Colaja.) Son of Maaseiah and father of Pedaiah, a Benjamite, and ancestor of Sallu, which last led back a party from Babylon ( Nehemiah 11:7). B.C. much ante 536.
