Johannes Garcaeus [1]
a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born December 13, 1530, at Hamburg. He studied at Wittenberg, was in 1557 professor of theology and pastor at Greifswalde, in 1562 superintendent and first-preacher at Brandenburg, and died Jan. 22, 1575.
