Crell (Crellius), Johannes

a Socinian divine, whose works form part of the Bibliotheca Fratrum Polonorum, was born in Franconia in 1590, and studied at Nuremberg and other German universities. Originally a Lutheran, he afterwards adopted the principles of Socinus, and went to Cracow, in Poland, in 1612, where he became a preacher; he then was appointed professor of Greek, and afterwards rector of the university at that place. He died in 1633. His works are collected in Opera omnia exeqetica, didactiea, et polenzica, magnam, partem hactenzus inedita (Irenopoli. 1656, 4 vols. in 3); Touching one God (trans.
