Johann Jakob Hottinger 2 [1]

Nephew of a grandson of the foregoing, and also a distinguished theologian, was born at Zurich May 18, 1783. He was appointed professor of history at the university of his native place in 1844, and died there May 18, 1859. His principal works are Gesch. d. Schweizer. Kirchentrennung (Z Ü r. 1825-27,2 vols. 8vo) Huldreich Zwingli u. s. Zeit (ibid. 1841, 8vo). He also edited, in connection with Vigeli, Bullinger's Reformationsgesch. (vol. 1-3, Frauenf. 1840, 8vo).
