James Corwin [1]

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Pendleton District, S.C., in 1811. After seventeen years of effective service in Indiana, he emigrated to California in 1849, became a member of the first conference in the state, and travelled very extensively between Siskiyou and San Diego. He died December 1, 1876. Mr. Corwin was remarkable in his exemplary life, energy, and devotedness in self-culture and service for the Church, and in his success.
