( Ι᾿Άκουβος V. r. Ι᾿Άρσουβος , Vulg. Aecubus), given in the Apocrypha ( 1 Esdras 9:48) as the name of one of the Levites who supported Ezra in reading the law; evidently the AKKUB (See Akkub) (q.v.) of the corresponding Heb. text ( Nehemiah 8:7).
