(n.) The worship of images as symbols; - distinguished from idolatry, the worship of images themselves.

( Εἰκών , Image, and Λατρεία , worship), the worship or adoration of images. Hence image-worshippers are called Iconolatrce, or Iconolaters. (See Image-Worship).
