(1): ( a.) Ten times ten; five score; as, a hundred dollars.
(2): ( n.) The product of ten mulitplied by ten, or the number of ten times ten; a collection or sum, consisting of ten times ten units or objects; five score. Also, a symbol representing one hundred units, as 100 or C.
(3): ( n.) A division of a country in England, supposed to have originally contained a hundred families, or freemen.

HUND'RED, a. L. centum. Denoting the product of ten multiplied by ten, or the number of ten times ten as a hundred men.
HUND'RED, n. A collection, body or sum, consisting of ten times ten individuals or units the number 100.
1. A division or part of a county in England, supposed to have originally contained a hundred families,or a hundred warriors, or a hundred manors. But as the word denotes primarily a circuit or division, it is not certin that Alfred's divisions had any reference to that number.
