Hodi'jah. (Majesty Of Jehovah).
1. A Levite, in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, Nehemiah 8:7, and probably also, Nehemiah 9:5; Nehemiah 10:10. (B.C. 410).
2. Another Levite, at the same time. Nehemiah 10:13.
3. A layman; one of the "heads" of the people, at the same time. Nehemiah 10:18.

(Heb. Hodiyah', הוֹדַיָּה , Majesty Of Jehovah; Sept. ᾿Ωδουία , ᾿Ωδουίας , ᾿Ωδούα , ᾿Ωδουϊ v Α ), the name of at least two men.
1. One of the Levites who assisted Ezra in expounding the law to the people ( Nehemiah 8:7; Nehemiah 9:5),.and subscribed Nehemiah's covenant (10:18; his name is apparently repeated in Nehemiah 9:13). B.C. cir. 410.
2. One of the chief Israelites who subscribed the covenant with Nehemiah ( Nehemiah 10:18). B.C. cir. 410.
