Heretical Baptism [1]
i.e., when administered by heretics, has been generally held, at least in the Roman Church, ever since the Donatist schism, to be valid; so likewise if performed by women, heathen, or even in sport, but not if self- administered (Smith, Dict. of Christ. Antiq. s.v.). (See Lay Baptism).
