Gregorio De Bolivar [1]

a Spanish missionary and publicist, lived in the early half of the 17th century. He belonged to the order of Saint Francis of the Observants. For twenty-five years he preached the Gospel to the people of Mexico. of Peru, and of several other parts of America, where European civilization had not penetrated. He was also, it is said, versed in medical science. He wrote Memorial de Arbitrios pard la Reparacion de Espana (Madrid, 1626): also an account of his travels, which has not been published.
