Giovanni Pamfili Doria [1]
an Italian prelate, was born at Rome, November 11, 1751. He was made archbishop at the age of twenty, and was sent on an embassy to Madrid, and afterwards as nuncio to France. On his return to Rome he was made cardinal, with the title of Sainte-Marie. In April 1798, when the French entered Rome, he was arrested, but was soon released, and retired to his family at Genoa.
