Brescia (Or Bresciano, Lat. Brixiensis), Giovanni Maria Da
an Italian painter and engraver, was born at Brescia about 1460, and studied painting and engraving for some time, after which he joined the order of the Carmelites at Brescia, and painted several pictures for the church of his monastery, and some frescos in the cloister, representing subjects from the history of Elijah and Elisha.
