Francesco Crasso [1]
an Italian prelate and jurist, was of an ancient family of Milan. He studied law, and practiced in his native city in 1528. He afterwards fulfilled various public functions. Pius IV appointed him prothonotary and governor of Bologna, and in 1565 he was made cardinal. He died at Rome, Sept. 1, 1566, leaving, Novce Constitutiones (1541): — Orationes (1541, 1559): — Commentaria in Jus Civile: — Carmina.
