would be a proper rendering for גּוֹזָל Gozal' (so called from its Peeping; the Arab. and Syr. use essentially the same word in, the sense of Nestling), a "Young" Bird, a. g. of the dove [squab], or pigeon ( Genesis 15:9), or eagle [eaglet] ( Deuteronomy 32:11. The' Greek corresponding term is Νεοσσός ("young" pigeon, Luke ii, 24). . (See Bird).
