Epene'tus. (Praiseworthy). A Christian at Rome, greeted by St. Paul in Romans 16:5, and designated as his beloved, and the first-fruit of Asia unto Christ .

Epene´tus, a Christian resident at Rome when Paul wrote his Epistle to the Church in that city, and one of the persons to whom he sent special salutations . In the received text he is spoken of as being 'the first fruits of Achaia;' but 'the first fruits of Asia' is the reading of another MSS.
