(a strange rendering for Ε᾿Λιάσεβος , Alex. MS. Ε᾿Λιάσιβος , Vulg. Eliasib), one of the Levitical musicians who married a Gentile wife after the return from Babylon ( 1 Esdras 9:24); evidently the ELIASHIB (See Eliashib) (q.v.) of the Hebrews text ( Ezra 10:24).
