Edward Elias Atwater [1]
a Congregational minister, was born in New Haven, Connecticut, May 28, 1816; graduated from Yale College in 1836, and from the Theological Seminary in 1840; was a pastor until 1870; and thereafter engaged in literary pursuits until his death at Hawthorne, Florida, December 2, 1887.
