( Δαισάν v. r. Δεσάν , Vulg. Desanon ), the head of one of the families of temple-servants that returned from Babylon (1 Esdras v: 31); evidently a corruption ( ר being mistaken for ד ) for the REZIN (See Rezin) (q.v.) of the Hebrew texts ( Ezra 2:48;  Nehemiah 7:50).

dā´san , dā´i - san ( Δαισάν , Daisán ): Head of a family of temple servants (1 Esdras 5:3:1) called Rezin in  Ezra 2:48;  Nehemiah 7:50 , the interchange of "D" and "R" in Hebrew being not uncommon.
