(Heb. כָּזְבַּי , Kozbi , false; Sept. Χασβί ; Joseph. Χοσβία , Ant. 4, 6, 10), the daughter of Zur, a Midianitish prince. Phinehas, in his holy indignation, slew her, while in the act of committing lewdness with Zimri, an Israelitish chief, by thrusting a javelin through the middle of both ( Numbers 25:15; Numbers 25:18). B.C. 1619.

koz´bı̄ ( כּזבּי , kozbı̄ , "deceitful"): A M idianite woman, distinguished as the daughter of Zur, "head of the people of a fathers' house in Midian." She was slain by Phinehas at Shittim in company with "Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a fathers' house among the Simeonites" ( Numbers 25:6-18 ).
