Easton's Bible Dictionary

In  Zephaniah 2:6 it is the rendering of the Hebrew Keroth , which some suppose to denote rather "pits" (RSV marg., "caves") or "wells of water," such as shepherds would sink.

Temporary booth or lodge, without stability.  Isaiah 1:8;  Isaiah 24:20 . In  Zephaniah 2:6 it is rather a shelter cut out of the rock.
