an eminent Lutheran Church historian, was born at Burg, in the island of Femern, Denmark, Jan. 15th, 1632. His studies, commenced at Schleswig, were continued in the universities of Rostock, Jena, Leipsic, and Wittenberg. In 1662 he became professor of Greek at Rostock, where he was made D.D. He was afterwards called to the professorship of theology at Kiel by the duke of Holstein-Gottorp, and in 1666 became vice- chancellor of that university. He died March 31 (or April 1st), 1694. His principal works are, De persecutionibus ecclesie primitive sub imperatoribus ethnicis (Jen. 1660, 4to;.
