(Hebrews Kor-Ashan ´ כּוֹראּעָשָׁן , Smoking Furnace; Sept. Βαρασάν v. r. Βωρασάν and even Βηρσαβεέ , i.e. Beer-sheba; Vulg. Lacus Ashan; so that both appear to have read בּוֹראּ ), one of the places (named between Hormah and Athach) in which "David and his men were wont to haunt," and to his I friends in which he sent presents of the plunder taken from the Amalekites who had robbed Ziklag ( 1 Samuel 30:30). The towns named in this catalogue are all south of Helron; and Chorashan, therefore, is probably identical with the simple ASHAN (See Ashan) (q.v.) of Simeon ( Joshua 15:42;  Joshua 19:7).
