a Scotch clergyman (son of the minister at Croy) took his degree from the University and King's College, Aberdeen, in 1767. He was licensed to preach in 1773, and called to be minister at Urquhart and Logie-Wester in 1774; and had a new church built in 1795. He died Oct. 1,1812, aged sixty- three years. He was a man of saintly character, gentle, benign, but majestic in his simplicity, He was a successful minister, generous to the poor, and esteemed by all his parishioners. See Fasti Eccles.
