BENO (‘his son’). In both AV [Note: Authorized Version.] and RV [Note: Revised Version.] a proper name in 1 Chronicles 24:26-27 , but we should perhaps render, ‘of Jaaziah his son , even the sons of Merari by Jaaziah his son ’ ( Oxf. Heb. Lex. s.v. ).

(Heb. Beno', בְּנוֹ , His Son; Sept. Υἱοὶ Βοννί in v. 2:26, and translates literally Υἱοὶ Αὐτοῦ in v. 2:27) is given as the only son, or the first of the four sons of Jaaziah the Levite, of the family of Merari, in 1 Chronicles 24:26-27; but there is much confusion in the whole passage.
