Athai'ah. (Whom Jehovah Made). A descendant of Pharez, the son of Judah, who dwelt at Jerusalem after the return from Babylon, Nehemiah 11:4, called Uthai in 1 Chronicles 9:4.

a - thā´ya ( עתיה , ‛ăthāyāh = "Yahweh is helper"; Ἀθέα , Athéa , or Ἀθεαί , Atheaı́ ): He is designated ( Nehemiah 11:4 ) as a descendant of Judah and the son of Uzziah. After the return from Babylon, he dwelt in Jerusalem. In 1 Chronicles 9:4 his name is given as Uthai.
