Annibale Caracci [1]

an illustrious Bolognese painter, was born in 1560, and studied under his cousin Lodovico. His principal works are at Rome; they are, The Marriage at Cana, in the chapel of the Farnese palace; The Assumption, in the Madonna del Popolo, and another fine picture representing the body of Christ supported by the Virgin. He died at Rome in 1609. The following are some of his other noted works: The Virgin Suckling the Infant Jesus; The Virgin And Child, With St. John Presenting A Bird; St. Francis, With A Crucifix And A Skull; The Massacre Of The Innocents.
