Alured Clarke [1]

an English divine, was born in 1696. He was educated at St. Paul's School, and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he was made fellow in 1718. He was installed prebendary of Winchester on May 23, 1723; was chaplain to king George I and George II; was promoted to a prebend in the Church of Westminster on May 8, 1731; was made dean of Exeter on May 12, 1740, and died May 31, 1742.
