<p> [[Brescia]] (Or Bresciano, Lat. Brixiensis), Giovanni Maria Da </p> <p> an [[Italian]] painter and engraver, was born at Brescia about 1460, and studied painting and engraving for some time, after which he joined the order of the [[Carmelites]] at Brescia, and painted several pictures for the church of his monastery, and some frescos in the cloister, representing subjects from the history of [[Elijah]] and Elisha.
