In the apocryphal list of the "temple-servants," whose descendants returned from the captivity, the same name ( Ἀνάν ) occurs ( 1 Esdras 5:30) in place of the HANAN (See Hanan) (q.v.) of the genuine text ( Ezra 2:46).
